All amateur public golfers and/or Troon Reward members can register for one or more of our three open regional qualifier events at premium golf courses across North America. The final field will be determined through a ballot system. The registration link is here.

Please note that The Crystal Cup is for amateurs only. Active PGA members or other golf professionals are not eligible to play.

The Crystal Cup is open to golfers all around the world. However, please consider that all successful qualifier teams will have to coordinate their own travel and accommodation arrangements for each relevant date and course.

There is no handicap restriction for The Crystal Cup. All players will compete in both the Gross and Net divisions regardless of handicap. If you do have a handicap and wish to compete with it in the Net Division, a registered USGA GHIN Number is required.

The three regional qualifying events will take you to some of North America’s greatest courses, including:

1) Aviara Golf Club, Carlsbad, CA

• Aviara is renowned for its stunning views and meticulously designed course. Crafted by the legendary Arnold Palmer, the layout weaves through picturesque landscapes. With its challenging holes and serene environment, Aviara offers an exceptional golfing experience, complemented by a welcoming clubhouse and top-notch amenities.

2) Tobacco Road Golf Club, Sanford, NC

• Tobacco Road is a uniquely designed course known for dramatic elevation changes and stunning natural beauty. Crafted by renowned architect Mike Strantz, the course features a blend of challenging holes and breathtaking vistas that provide an unforgettable experience. With its commitment to preserving the area's natural landscape, Tobacco Road has garnered acclaim among golf enthusiasts, making it a must-play destination.

3) La Cantera Golf Club. San Antonio, TX

• Nestled in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, the resort provides breathtaking views of the region and downtown San Antonio from one of the highest points in the area. Ranked second out of the “Top 30 Resorts in North America” and among the “Top 50 Golf Resorts in the U.S.” by Condé Nast Traveler, La Cantera combines the best in golf with the best of luxury.

Each qualifier will have a registration closing date, the day after which all names will be entered into the random draw. We will pull teams until a full field of 70 teams has been drawn. If selected, you will be notified that day with a new link to provide payment and to fully register both players.

The Qualifiers are just for players. We appreciate your understanding that we won’t be able to host guests.

The event is a two-person modified best ball (shamble). Each player hits a tee-shot, the team selects the best tee-shot, and each player plays their own ball from that point until it is holed. The lower of the two scores becomes the team score for the hole. Teams will play in both a Gross and Net Division. All teams are eligible to compete in both divisions. Each team participant must provide a valid USGA GHIN handicap to compete in the Net Division. Players will receive 50% of their course handicap to determine their net score per hole.

There will be a Low Gross and a Low Net team winner. A team can only place in one division. If a team places in both divisions, they will be awarded the higher place. If a team finishes in the same place in both divisions, Gross supersedes Net.

To secure your team’s spot at The Crystal Cup, a designated team captain must register the team for one or more qualifiers. A ballot will determine the final field. If your team is successful in the ballot, you will be required to pay a starting registration fee ranging from $340-$550, depending on the location(s) you choose to play at.
